Democracy in Action

Call me an idealist but I really believe the time is right for people's movements to have effect. I think the whole earthquake scenario proved that as ordinary civillians moved together as one to a common goal. If we can continue to harness that unity to bring about changes I think it would be brilliant.

lets start out small. Lets start out by changing a small law that shouldn't be too controversial to do.... and see if it works. If it does... we can carry on from there.

If anyone tuned in to my show a couple of days back, we talked about changing laws and how to go about it. A small example of one such law that I feel should be changed is the one about a person being brought into hospital with an injury associated with crime. If you have been shot, by law the doctors are not allowed to treat you unless an FIR has been filed with the police first. That precious time could mean life or death. No I am not being over dramatic...that's exactly what it could mean. I'm sure many of us have had atleast one such experience and know exactly what I am talking about.. Any takers on the campaign to change or update the law?

Interesting point. I agree. Even big names have suffered against that law.

Sadly enough, i think the mentality of those slow lethargic policemen needs to be changed, who await an opportunity to be corrupt and not attend until they are bribed.

though i do agree, induction or ammendment of that clause in law will be starting at teh mcaro level, where they will not have a chance to question.

on an unrelated note, ive heard that a doctor was treating a patient reported to have Congo/Ebola virus at JPMC in Karachi, both of whom have fallen prey and that matters have been under wraps.

Adversity brings us closer, no doubt about that. Interesting take on laws. Although the change the law campaign sounds pretty convincing, do you think it's the right time to do it?

What I think about Karachites is ke jab uthna bohat zaroori hota hai naa tabhi neend se uthte hain.. warna all they can do is mourn over suffering. Your point is quite logical but yes then the challenge is immense because it needs huge crowd with power and contacts.

Uff why the hell my radio doesn't catch the frequency of fm89.. arrrghh!! :@

The psyche of collectivization:P How to get rid of the "it won't make a difference" attitude, of changing the way people view state-citizen relations and being provoked to mobilize for their entitlements. I wish I was a game theory maverick.
